Brenau's policy on accepting old courses for transfer credit is as follows:
- The university will accept ALL liberal education courses regardless of the date of satisfactory completion unless the liberal education course is also a major course.
- The university will accept major courses taken within 15 years unless listed below.
- The university will accept major courses taken within 5 years for the following courses
Business and Mass Communication
- MM 250 Intro to Radio/TV
- MM 251 Radio Production
- MM 302 Television Production/Editing
- MM 402 Convergent Media News
- MM 450 Communication Law
Fine Arts & Humanities
- ID 233 CADD
- ID 333 Advanced CADD
- GR 207/207L Digital Graphic Design & Lab
- GR 410 Digital Media Design
Education
- Acceptance of Education Coursework from other institutions will be determined by the College of Education based upon the content knowledge required by the state teacher’s examination(s).
Students seeking to have a course accepted that is over 15 or 5 years old (depending on the course) can use this form to submit their exception request to the dean of the appropriate school for a final decision. In order to have your classes considered for transfer credit, please complete this form and include a brief statement on how you have maintained your knowledge, in your current career, in these particular fields of study. The Dean will review your written appeal and you will receive notification of the status of these courses from your advisor.
